Every successful business and project started out as a seed in someone’s mind.
But having these brilliant ideas was only just the start of things.
To get things to really take off and to ensure our success, we need to have the proper mindset to make sure that no matter what hiccups we experience along the way, we’ll continue towards success.
That’s what this chapter is all about.
Mindset.
Before you even consider jumping into internet marketing, you need to adjust your thinking, so you don’t end up like one of those hopefuls that fizzled out after the first obstacle reared its nasty head.
To do that, we need to, once again, address some common misconceptions that people have commonly associated with the world of internet marketing.
Ready?
Making money is not a get rich scheme.
No matter what method you choose to start your internet marketing journey with, there will be tons of products/offers/trainings that will promise to turn your computer into an ATM or turn you into a millionaire overnight at the click of a button.
My best advice for you is to run as fast as you can away from anyone who promises you those sorts of things.
Internet marketing is hard work.
I won’t lie.
But there are ways you can make it easier on yourself.
You must occasionally invest time and money into your education.
For some things, you can read a couple of eBooks or watch a video or two and be off on your own.
Internet marketing isn’t like that.
Consider yourself a lifelong student for as long as you’re involved with internet marketing.
You’re never really done learning.
Occasionally, you may also need to invest some money to further your skills, but this isn’t always necessary.
Expect no one to support you or your ventures.
Remember how I said that one of the quickest ways of setting yourself up for failure was to announce your plans and goals to your friends and family?
You can help cut down on the strain and negative people that will try and stop you by not announcing your goals to the whole wide world.
Keep them to yourself.
If you must share them or must get them out into some concrete form, keep a journal where you can keep track of things and keep yourself accountable.
But whatever you do, do not tell another person about them.
Be prepared for setbacks and to work hard.
Internet marketing is just like any other business.
If you want to see success, you got to keep at it until you see success.
The best businesses never gave up when they didn’t see their first hint of success within a day or week or two.
They just kept going until they saw success.
Internet marketing is the same way.
Sometimes it means walking around in the dark and feeling around till something feels right.
The important thing is to not give up halfway or at the first sign of disaster.
Remember: How badly do you really want to succeed?
When you’re ready, proceed to the next chapter.
