What is PLR Content And What Can You Do With It?
You can buy all the best PLR content out there.
But without taking the proper steps to adjust and rebranding it, it'll be the worst thing you can do for your website.

You need epic content.
Something that stands out from the crowd.
Without great content, you don't have anything to build trust on, no SEO opportunities, no chance of driving sales and certainly no way to solve problems that your readers have.
Here's the thing...
Buying this type of content is not as simple as it seems.
You don't want to waste your time and energy on something that will do more harm than good to your brand's reputation.
Keep reading if you want to learn more about what PLR content is and how to use it on your own website in a way that puts your brand in the most authoritative position.
What Exactly Is PLR Content?
In this post, I'm going to explain what PLR is and why you should consider using it.
PLR stands for Private Label Rights, also known as White Label content or Pre-Made content.
PLR is a type of right or license attached to content such as articles which you purchase.
PLR can be inexpensive and not be "cheap", but it can also be expensive. The quality can vary so as with all things you have to know how to spot the good from the bad.
Once you buy PLR, you can rebrand the content to fit your needs.
In other words, you are legally allowed to edit and publish the article as your own, using your own name as the author.
By purchasing the rights to use something already created, you’re getting “as-is” content - but you have the “right” to rebrand it by making whatever changes you want to make it your own.
Then you can package the way you want for your brand and your audience.
So, PLR content is any kind of content that gives you the “rights” to make changes, usually without limitations, whether you’re modifying or editing the content.
It is important to understand, however, this is not easy, buy and use solution - PLR content is not created just for you - it’s general content that also can be purchased by other buyers.
That means you run the risk of duplicate content unless you add your personal touch to help set your PLR content apart.
That being said, one of the biggest advantages to PLR content is that it’s a quick solution if you’re stuck in a rut and don’t know what to write.
Editing already created content is much easier than having to create something from scratch.
Example of PLR Content
Now that you know what PLR content is, what can it be used for?
Here are some great ideas:
PLR articles are a great way to build content for a blog.
Anyone trying to write fresh content for a blog knows it’s not always easy.
With PLR articles, you can keep the content coming and save time in the process.
Other examples would be to take a PLR article and divide it up for daily tips on your Facebook page or YouTube channel..
Or, you can combine several articles together into one long report or use them to create an ebook.
Remember, once you purchase them, you can do whatever you want or need with them.
Rebranding Rules
There are some things you can’t do with PLR content.
To be clear, once you purchase the content and begin the rebranding process, it’s good to know exactly what you can and cannot do.
You should be taking advantage of the things you can do to ensure you’re taking full advantage of your PLR content...
You can:
You can't:
Sellers have their own rules with the rights of the content you buy from them.
Read the terms of service or license before buying so you understand what you're getting.
Most PLR sellers will let you change the content, re-brand it and use your name as the author of it.
You can sell the content but your customers are usually not allowed to change or resell them.
It's rare to find PLR content that allows you to have master resale rights (MMR).
This allows your customers to resell PLR content but their customers can't resell the content again.
PLR vs MMR vs RR
There are some differences between PLR, MMR and RR (resell rights).
Private Label Rights (PLR) means you can edit and change the content and sell it to other people in the form of products, memberships and more.
Master Resell Rights (MMR) allows you to sell the content to other people, this is useful if your target audience is other business owners.
Resell Rights (RR) means you can sell the content to your customers but you can't claim ownership.
While these definitions are common, they are not concentrated and they can vary from seller to seller.
You need to make sure you know what you're getting before buying.
Never use any of these definitions.
Verify by reading through the license and rights.
Who Should Consider PLR Content
If you’re new to the game and in need of content, or just want to save time and simplify your life, you need to consider using PLR content.
If you work a full time job and have limited time to devote to your online business, PLR content is just what you’re looking for.
After all, you may be the owner of an online business, but if you have outside demands (like a F/T job) on your time, you won’t enough have time left over to devote to the content you need to write.
Wouldn’t be great if you didn’t have to struggle at the keyboard quite as much - or worry about when you’ll be able to get your content written?
Think about it: you could set up a blog with PLR articles, then set one per day to go live by timestamping them.
From there, you could create and use a PLR eBook as a free incentive to get email subscribers to a newsletter.
Then attach advertising and related affiliate offers to the newsletter you send to your subscribers.
Now you have a blog that pays you monthly – and it doesn’t need to end there.
All you have to do is take with PLR articles from another niche and repeat the same thing.
Isn’t that great?
Here’s yet another use for PLR content:
PLR articles can be organized into chapters and created into eBooks and special reports.
These eBooks and special reports can be given away or you can sell them.
People love these because it has all the answers that they need to solve their problems.
They are, after all, paying for the solutions.
Here’s one more idea…
An email that you send to your subscribers to promote your blog or website.
You can buy pre-written email templates just for this purpose.
Hopefully, with this article you’ve seen the potential of PLR content - there’s no easier way to get up and running, or keep the content coming.
Even if you’re not sure - go ahead and give it a try - you might find it’s the perfect solution to your content needs.
