In The Art of War ...
... Sun Tzu refers to Energy or Potential of using different combinations to succeed at your goal.
Of course his goal was winning at war, but for us in marketing it is taking the information or content that we have and finding ways to repurpose and provide value to our audience…
Take for example here the examples that Sun Tzu states:
7. There are not more than five musical notes, yet the combinations of these five give rise to more melodies than can ever be heard..
8. There are not more than five primary colors (blue, yellow, red, white, and black), yet in combination they produce more hues than can ever been seen.
9. There are not more than five cardinal tastes (sour, acrid, salt, sweet, bitter), yet combinations of them yield more flavors than can ever be tasted.
10. In battle, there are not more than two methods of attack—the direct and the indirect; yet these two in combination give rise to an endless series of maneuvers.
The key take away here?
Combinations …
When we produce content, at first it will be in a single form … but take a look at what Sun Tzu wrote again…
Those 5 musical notes, turned into more melodies that can ever be heard!
The 5 primary colors, but they are able to create more colors than you can even image or be seen in your lifetime!
No more than 5 tastes, but again combine them and the flavors are endless and you will never taste them all.
And when it comes to battle, one 2 methods of attack, but so many different ways to maneuver or implement these 2 methods…
So take note of this and when you create that 1 single piece of content think hard and long how it can be repurposed or used in so many different combination to spread your message far and wide…
And yes one of those ways is via a simple dynamic piece of content made up of simple Questions and Answers … the Quiz …

You “only” have 5 questions and 5 answers?

Go back and reread Sun Tzu again … and think about those 5 questions and 5 answers, are you sure the possible combinations have been exhausted?
23. Thus the energy developed by good fighting men is as the momentum of a round stone rolled down a mountain thousands of feet in height. So much on the subject of energy.
Do not think that you are finished when you create your first quiz, just like the “round stone” does not stop it keeps rolling until it has reached its destination…
